We bring the boxes, the muscle, and the moving-day game plan. You bring the keys to your new place and your best moving day playlist.
Fill in a few details for a quick quote.
Amsterdam is a beautiful place to live, but moving here can come with a few challenges thanks to its canals, busy streets, and famously steep staircases.
That’s why we like to plan ahead.
Before moving day, we’ll look at your property, check the access, and figure out the best way to handle anything bulky, fragile, or particularly valuable. And if the staircase is too tight for larger furniture, we’ll make sure to bring our moving lift so we can move it through a suitable window instead.
Most importantly, we’ll keep you in the loop from start to finish, with a clear quote, a solid plan, and an experienced team ready for whatever your Amsterdam move brings.
As your local moving company in Amsterdam, we’ll bring our A-game to every box, staircase, and curveball that comes our way (trust us, we’ve seen it all over the last 15 years!).
We think moving somewhere new should be more exciting than exhausting, and we’re here to take as much of the exhausting stuff off your hands as possible.
Here’s what you can expect from our High Level Movers team:
Even the best-planned move can come with a few awkward jobs. Our moving lift, storage facility, and furniture assembly service are there when you need a little extra help.
Some things simply aren’t making it up or down an Amsterdam staircase. Our external moving lift gets bulky furniture in or out through a suitable window instead.
Not everything needs to arrive at your new place on day one. Keep your belongings safely stored with us until you’re ready to make room for them.
Nobody dreams of spending their first night in Amsterdam assembling a wardrobe. We’re happy to put together your furniture for you, so your new place feels like home asap.

We like to keep things simple. Here’s how we’ll get your move underway in four steps.
Depending on your address, you may need to notify the City of Amsterdam or arrange permission to reserve street space, place equipment outside, or access areas with traffic restrictions. Check what applies to both addresses early and let us know when you request your quote, so we can factor it into the plan.
Before moving day, check the stairs, landings, doorways, and windows your biggest pieces will need to pass through. If anything looks like a squeeze, send us a few photos or measurements, and we can figure out whether the stairs or our moving lift make more sense.
You can report your change of address to the City of Amsterdam from four weeks before your move until five days afterwards. It’s worth getting this off your list early, especially if you’ll need a resident parking permit, as your new address needs to be registered first. Check the City of Amsterdam website ahead of time to see what documents you’ll need.
If you’re arriving in Amsterdam for a new job or to go to university, chances are moving isn’t the only thing on your to-do list. Once you know when you’ll be getting the keys, check our availability and start planning your move. Getting ahead gives you more time to decide if you want us to help with packing, storage, or furniture assembly too.
Some things you really don’t want disappearing into box number 37. Keep your passport, keys, important documents, medication, chargers, and a change of clothes together in a bag that stays with you. That way, your essentials are always within reach while we take care of everything else.
Amsterdam may be famous for its canals and crooked houses, but there’s plenty more to see and do once you call the city home. Here are a few of our favourite places to explore.
There’s no shortage of museums to fill a free afternoon. Head to Museumplein for the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, or visit the Museum of the Canals to learn more about the waterways you’ll now be walking past every day. And if you’d rather simply wander, the canal ring is one of the best places to get to know the city on foot or by bike.
Part of the fun of moving to Amsterdam is getting to know your own corner of the city. Jordaan, De Pijp, Oost, and Amsterdam-Noord all have their own mix of cafés, restaurants, markets, and independent shops. Spend a few weekends exploring, and you’ll soon have your favourite coffee spot, local supermarket, and go-to place for dinner.
When you need a break from the busy streets, Vondelpark is an easy escape for a walk, run, or lazy afternoon outside. It’s also a great place to take the kids when everyone needs some fresh air after a day of unpacking. Grab a coffee, find a spot on the grass, and enjoy having nowhere else you need to be.
Your move might start in Amsterdam, but it doesn’t have to end there. Our experienced movers can help you relocate throughout the Randstad.
